I am a freelance director and editor, based near Hamburg, Germany.
I studied film at the ifs international film school cologne as well as the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. There, I mostly worked on short narrative and documentary films. I still value the creative discourse that is encouraged between you and your fellow students, always challenging each other and collaborating on telling the stories we felt the world needed.
After film school I started working as an Assistant Producer at Markenfilm, Germany's largest commercial film production, and later on as a Creative Producer, producing, writing, directing and editing commercials for clients like Mercedes, Google, Hyundai, Cafe Royal, among others. During these years I was very fortunate to work with the best talent in commercial filmmaking, from directors and DoPs, to seasoned producers and the most creative agencies from all around the world.
I am also an avid chef who has specialised in making pizza, which I show on my instagram @cheffarkas.
